Our company:

Bloodstream infection leading to sepsis is responsible for more than half of all deaths in hospitals and is the most expensive condition treated in hospitals. Sepsis mortality rate increases >6% every hour without effective antibiotic treatment. Nevertheless, current methodologies require 3 days to determine the correct antibiotic to treat a sepsis patient.

Specific Diagnostics has developed a breakthrough solution to rapidly determine the effective antibiotic treatment for bloodstream and other acute infections. Used for bloodstream infection Specific’s solution provides results 2 days sooner (1 day vs 3 days).

The Job

The responsibility of inventory control and Logistics manager includes:

  • Picking part kits for manufacturing assemblers use in the daily assembly of instrument.

  • Stocking a warehouse area with parts received after incoming inspection and maintaining inventory locations in neat and orderly fashion.

  • Data entry into the inventory control system including daily incoming and outgoing stock changes.

  • Tagging parts and shelves properly according to quality procedures.

  • Assist in inventory tracking and physical inventory (cycle counts) as scheduled, reporting discrepancies between physical counts and system records.

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services.

  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.

  • Hire, supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce.

  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.

  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.

  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements.

The job also includes supply chain facing tasks such as assisting with ordering shipping, packing and store supplies and packing and arranging for shipping of products and parts.

You

You should have experience in a manufacturing work environment or experience in organizing and managing material inventory. Minimum of high school degree or equivalent is required, and an associate degree/certificate or higher in a manufacturing technology or similar specialty would be a plus. A self-motivated individual, flexible with a positive attitude, and willing to take on new challenges is a must. Good verbal communication skills, an ability to closely follow written work instructions, and experience working with inventory control systems. You should have 3 or more years of relevant experience including:

  • Expert in kitting materials for manufacturing , managing incoming and outgoing parts to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Experience with MRP and inventory control system, preferably NetSuite.

  • Experienced in shipping/receiving, and developing inventory management and logistics procedure.

  • Experienced in maintaining inventory locations according to quality procedures preferably in the medical device field.

  • Some computer skills and experience with common software (Excel, Powerpoint, email)

  • The ability to read engineering documentation is a plus

  • Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects in a fast pace environment.

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, full fluency (verbal and written) of the English language is a must.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • This job is performed in a manufacturing shop setting adjacent to development laboratories and offices. Standing or sitting for extended periods may be required at times.

  • Some moderate to heavy lifting is likely. Exertion of up to 40 lbs. of lifting occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common tools and equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, etc., are required.

  • Good organizational and self-management skills are needed, and solid reasoning ability is required to contribute to solving challenges as they arise.
