Responds to the metabolic byproducts produced by microorganisms to detect growth and assess antibiotic efficacy.
Nanoporous sensors sensitively detects low (10 parts per billion) concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by microorganisms as they grow.
Color-active chemical indicators are embedded in a proprietary nanoporous matrix to enhance surface area and therefore sensitivity with the emission of volatiles prompting a change in sensor color imaged every 10 minutes by a simple scan.
Determination of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC)
Sensor color changes report growth monitored every 10 minutes, allowing the phenotypic identification of growth or its absence and the associated MIC determination to be made.
